We have to live healthy. In the United States especially, general health in particular and physical health in particular are real problems. Being healthy is about more than being thin. The two of them are not necessarily connected, because you can be fit without being skinny. While losing weight if you are overweight or obese is always a good idea, health is about more than that.
However, it can be about exercise. Activity is imperative. It keeps you cardiovascular system running like a well oiled machine, it helps you burn calories — it help keeps you safe from heart attack, stroke, and a number of other less minor but still devastating problems.
You do not have to go overboard, honestly. There are easy things you can do which can help to save your life. A little more activity in your life, and you can significantly reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and a stroke. Your joints will be more stable, you will be able to move more and remain flexible. Your bones will stay healthy and strong, which in turn can prevent fractures and even osteoporosis. You will be in a better mood, less prone to depression and anxiety. It will even reduce your stress.
